President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump. How delicious. You’re all asking yourselves how this could happen. I can tell you if you’re willing to grow up and accept it.

This Electoral Race has been characterised by a level of access to social media that has never been previously experienced. A conduit straight from your ignorant, uneducated, opinionated mouth straight to the ears of millions of equally clueless drones, ready to take any opinion they think sounds enlightened and regurgitate it themselves to anyone who will listen.

I assume you are all familiar with the expression, ‘The squeaky wheel gets the oil’. You should be, since a lot of you have been squeaking pretty fucking hard for a long time now, and you are simply used to getting the oil.

A Millennial attitude where you believe something should not be simply because it offends you or you don’t like it. Stoicism has gone out the window, the idea that you have some control over how you feel or react to something has become a foreign concept. A victim mentality where somehow we’ll accept complete slavery to our emotions. Past generations would have called it weakness and they’d be dead right.

While you’ve been squeaking, the other wheels have just been rolling along patiently. You’ve been so busy getting triggered by everything that you forgot there is still a straight, white, cis-gender, working middle class that simply doesn’t give a shit about your sexuality, what gender you identify with this week, or how you got PTSD when you couldn’t find a job that utilised your Doctorate of Underwater Balloon Animals or Degree in Feminist Interpretive Dance.

You forgot about them because they don’t rush to social media to moan about every minor inconvenience they encounter, they just get up and go to work and live their lives. They take hits and they get back up. They worry about shit that actually matters like job prospects, the economy and national security.

Even if they felt the need to complain about it, who would listen? Just check your privilege, right? An entire demographic of people who have been marginalised, told purely by virtue of gender, skin colour, orientation and socioeconomic status that they have no right to complain about anything. So they don’t complain. You backed them into a corner, and that’s where they waited.

They waited for someone who cares more about reviving American industry than pandering to foreign powers. They waited for someone who cares more about homeless and mentally ill Americans than enabling generation after generation of illegal immigrants to flaunt the law just so nobody gets hurt feelings. They waited for someone who believes America should be seen to be a dominant, unassailable military force, because they know that is how you AVOID war, not incite it. They waited for someone who is intelligent, financially savvy and stands by their values. They waited for somebody who doesn’t give a shit about your feelings, just like they don’t.

Could a woman be President? Absolutely. Should Hillary Clinton be President? Not a chance in hell. She belongs at the end of a rope for what she has done to the American people, for Benghazi, for a dozen other reasons. Say what you will about Donald Trump, he is a patriot. He loves the United States of America. Will he be the President to fix the US? Maybe. He’ll definitely try.

The media wants me to believe that Trump hates minorities and women. Pretty strange then that he would be elected in a country where minorities and women make up 77% of the voting demographic. The best they could do is dredge up a recording of him saying something mildly sexist from ten years ago. I ask you – if someone turned up with a recording of the most inappropriate thing you’ve said in the last six months and played it out of context all over the media, how would it portray you? I don’t know about you but I’d be put in a fucking prison on the moon for 200 years.

This election is the natural progression, a response to uncontrolled change for the sake of change. We’re going back to the fundamentals here. Trump is going to make America great again and he doesn’t give a shit how much it triggers you.

The absolutely most satisfying part is how sure you all were that he would never be elected, simply because the loudest people in the room kept saying it.
